THE SWEDISH ASSOCIATION OF CORPORATE TREASURERS
Knowledge development, best practice sharing and active influence

SACT’s main objective is to be an active forum for treasury and finance related issues. The agenda is increasingly determined by the trends of globalization and harmonization that characterize the daily activities of today’s corporates. The Association works closely with the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise and with other international Corporate Treasury organizations.

Enhanced efficiency
SACT strives to increase the expertise and effectiveness of its members in issues related to finance and corporate treasury. It also serves as an opinion-maker and referral body for legislation, regulations and trends in its field.
There is a practical and specific focus on knowledge building and networking. Best practice and benchmarking are important tools and the active involvement by members is crucial.
This takes place at regular seminars – at which external specialists may also participate – and recent topics have been risk management techniques, pension issues, growth markets, new accounting rules (IFRS) and treasury systems.

Global focus
Through its work with review of draft legislation and opinion-making, SACT has contact with the leading players in the financial market, for example the Swedish Central Bank, supervisory authorities, commercial banks, insurance companies and industry organizations. In many cases, SACT’s draft proposals have resulted in amendments to legislation and regulations. An increasing portion of the Association’s work has a bearing on issues relating to the EU and to global trends. One example is growth economies such as China, where
developments have a significant influence on the member companies. Another example is the coordination and harmonization of the financial markets within the EU – a trend that has increased the need to connect SACT closer to the networks driving finance and corporate treasury issues at European level.
